{"id":15401,"date":"2021-03-25T17:37:09","date_gmt":"2021-03-25T22:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/ohare\/?page_id=15401"},"modified":"2026-02-25T14:45:59","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T20:45:59","slug":"suite-apartment-process","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/ohare\/suite-apartment-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Traditional Apartment Processes"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>General Information<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All unassigned, continuing upper-division students who submitted their Housing Registration are eligible to participate in the apartment processes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Apartment Locations and Types:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4-Person Apartments:\n<ul>\n<li>Chaffin Apartments (2 shared double bedrooms)<\/li>\n<li>Village at 糖心Vlog官方 South Tower Apartments\n<ul>\n<li>Two Types:\n<ul>\n<li>2 shared double bedrooms<\/li>\n<li>1 shared double bedroom and 2 single bedrooms)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>3-Person Apartments:\n<ul>\n<li>Morgan\/Lewis Apartments (1 shared double bedroom and 1 single bedroom)<\/li>\n<li>Village at 糖心Vlog官方 Townhouse Apartments (1 shared double bedroom and 1 single bedroom)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>2-Person Apartments\n<ul>\n<li>Morgan\/Lewis Apartments (1 shared double bedroom; bedroom separated from living space\/kitchen)\n<ul>\n<li>NOTE:\u00a0 Design of Lewis apartments ending in 06 varies from other standard apartments.\u00a0 Please consult the floor plans in the Housing Portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Morgan\/Lewis Studio Apartments (1 shared double bedroom; one large, open room)<\/li>\n<li>Village at 糖心Vlog官方 South Tower Apartments (1 shared double bedroom)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to bedroom spaces, all apartments contain a full kitchen, living\/dining area, and one (1) or more bathrooms.\u00a0 Village at 糖心Vlog官方 apartments and townhouses contain an in-unit washer and dryer.<\/p>\n<p>The 4-Person Apartment Process and 2-Person Apartment Process will take place as one process.<\/p>\n<p>Roommate group formation is specific to each process. \u00a0For each process, students will need to form roommate groups based on the required criteria.\u00a0 Roommate groups must be fully matched and contain the correct number of students in order to be considered for the random selection process, meaning all students must confirm the group by either requesting or accepting other students. A seniority-driven, random selection will take place for each process utilizing the point average for each roommate group to determine successful groups, and the order for room selection.<\/p>\n<p>Room selection will take place online in the Housing Portal.\u00a0 Successful groups will be notified via email and provided with a specific room selection time and instructions for completing the online room selection.\u00a0 Unsuccessful groups will also be notified and should plan to participate in future processes.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the beginning of the application period, information will be posted in the Housing Portal under \u201cHousing Lottery Statistics and Documents\u201d regarding the number of available units.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>3-Person Apartment Process (Begins February 22, 2026)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><u>3-Person Apartment Application:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any student interested in participating in 3-Person Apartment Process must complete the 3-Person Apartment Application in the Housing Portal between February 22 at 12 a.m. CST and February 24 at 6 p.m. CST.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>3-Person Apartment Roommate Groups:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All students participating in the 3-Person Apartment Process must form a roommate group of three (3) students, or a roommate\/hallmate group of six (6) students.<\/p>\n<p>Forming a roommate or roommate\/hallmate group will run concurrently with the 3-Person Apartment Application.\u00a0 In order to form a roommate or roommate\/hallmate group, all students must first submit their 3-Person Apartment Application.\u00a0 Roommate groups can be formed between February 22 at 12 a.m. CST and February 24 at 6 p.m. CST.\u00a0 Roommate groups can be comprised of any eligible student regardless of sex.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>How to Form a Roommate Group:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into the Housing Portal.<\/li>\n<li>Click on \u201cRoommate Selection\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cSelect Roommates\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Select \u201cFall 2026\u201d as the term from the dropdown menu.<\/li>\n<li>If any other student\/s have already requested you as a\u00a0roommate\/hallmate, the requests will show under \u201cPending\u00a0Roommate Requests\u201d. To accept requests, click on the three dots to the left of their name and select the \u201cMatch\u201d icon.<\/li>\n<li>To request a student, click on \u201cSearch for Roommate\u201d.\u00a0Students are encouraged to search by VUnetID.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm that all members of your roommate\/hallmate group\u00a0accept\/request the student\/s they would like in their group under \u201cRoommate Requests.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Failure of one (1) or more students to accept all roommates will result in the group being ineligible for the consideration in the random selection process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED A FULLY MATCHED ROOMMATE GROUP, ALL MEMBERS OF THE GROUP MUST EITHER REQUEST ONE ANOTHER OR ACCEPT ANY PENDING REQUESTS FROM OTHER GROUP MEMBERS. NO EMAILS OR COMMUNICATION REGARDING ROOMMATES WILL BE SENT TO STUDENTS FROM THE OFFICE OF HOUSING ASSIGNMENTS. STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING WITH ONE ANOTHER TO ENSURE GROUPS ARE PROPERLY FORMED.
